Amachi is a medical-nin/scientist, who was an accomplice of Orochimaru. He and Orochimaru terrorized the people of the Land of the Sea, and kidnapped the citizens for their deadly experiments (including Isaribi) which included making the ultimate underwater ninja for Orochimaru. He ordered Isaribi to attack ships, promising to return her to her normal form, but truly intending to dissect her once she was no longer of use. He also seemed to know Anko Mitarashi as well, since she was with Orochimaru at the time.

Amachi's Jutsus (3) Water Release: Large Projectile

When in Kaima Form, the user is able to attack with a giant blast of water by spitting it as a strong stream from their mouth.

Summoning Technique (Umibozu)
Umibozu (海坊主, Umibōzu) It was used by Amachi to terrorize the Land of the Sea. Umibozu itself is nothing more than water that has been gathered and held together by chakra, making it virtually indestructible unless it is completely evaporated. Naruto Uzumaki got swallowed by its indestructible water mass and was completely immobilized, until he gained a burst of chakra from the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox and eventually broke free, shattering it into tiny droplets. During a later encounter, after Umibozu reformed, Naruto resorted to summoning Gamabunta and it was defeated by Naruto throwing an exploding tag attached to a kunai into Gamabunta's oil, completely evaporating it.

Choza Akimichi (秋道チョウザ, Akimichi Chōza) is the father of Choji Akimichi and former teammate of Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka, and together they were the previous Ino-Shika-Cho trio. The kanji on his chest armor means "food". Choza is the head of the Akimichi clan and was part of the first "Ino-Shika-Cho Trio" alongside Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka, his name being the Cho part of the group name. He is seemingly a gentle and caring man with great wisdom and understanding of the world, and has deep love for his son, Choji. Like the rest of his clan, he had a large appetite, and was prone to eat everything on an entire page on the menu. Like his son and the rest of his clan, Choza used the special technique that allows him to change calories into chakra. As the leader of his clan, it is highly logical that he is skilled in all his clan's secret techniques. With this he has been seen using both the Super Multi-Size Technique, the Human Bullet Tank and the Partial Multi-Size Technique, which all revolved around the clan's special ability to increase the size of their various body parts.

The Super Multi-Size Technique is basically a larger version of the normal Multi-Size Technique. It gives the user gigantic proportions.

After taking the Curry Pill, the second of his clan's Three Colored Pills, Choji Akimichi used this technique against Jirobo, forcing the latter to go into his Cursed Seal's second state. Choji does not need to take a pill for this jutsu in Shippūden.

Choza Akimichi also uses this in the Invasion of Konoha by Sand and Sound during Part I. It is likely that Choza, being Choji's father, and therefore much older and with more training, can use this jutsu without needing to take any of the Three Colored Pills.

Partial Multi-Size Technique

This is a secret jutsu passed down in the Akimichi clan that expands the user's stomach. This jutsu increases the user's body size by using up the user's food energy, converting calories into chakra. Akimichi clan members tend to eat fattening foods and have large physiques in order to support this technique. When Choji Akimichi uses this jutsu in Part I, it gives him a very round appearance. When he uses it in Part II it increases his size, similar to the Super Multi-Size Technique.

Human Bullet Tank

After the user uses Multi-Size Technique to make themselves into a human-sized ball, they tuck their limbs inside their clothes and use chakra to propel themselves into a powerful, but slow, roll. It is difficult for the user to turn in this form.

The academy is where would-be ninja start; they are not actually considered ninja until they graduate. Academy students take formal and practical tests of all sorts and are taught the basics. Basic weapon usage, such as simple kunai and shuriken throws, are commonly taught. Elementary ninja techniques, though they vary from village to village, are also taught. These include the Transformation Technique, Rope Escape Technique, Body Replacement Technique, Clone Technique, Exploding Tag: Activate, Cloak of Invisibility Technique.

Upon graduating, students receive a special band of fabric with a metal bar bearing the symbol of their village (which can be worn in many ways). It is commonly referred to as a "forehead protector" or hitai-ate. Some villages also have an additional test given by the Jonin sensei of each three-man squad to see if they are truly ready to graduate, and to ensure that only truly qualified ninja are promoted. The test for determining which three teams may become Genin are administered by each team's respective Jonin commander, and vary depending on the Jonin. Those who fail their test are sent back to the academy.

Graduation requirements vary from academy to academy. In Konoha, the graduation exam is comprised of some sort of written test, as well as knowledge of basic techniques. At one point, the exam in Kirigakure was a life-or-death battle between all male students, with the winners graduating. Zabuza Momochi murdered all of the graduating class before he qualified, thus this practice was suspended in favor of more acceptable (and less depopulating) methods.

This technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).

Kakuremino no Jutsu

This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible. Konohamaru uses this technique constantly in the beginning of the series to try and fool Naruto Uzumaki, but uses poor disguises (square rocks with eyeholes, cloaks that are incorrectly patterned or the wrong way round, or simply not covering himself completely), thus betraying the illusion.

Body Replacement Technique

This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique.

The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. These items are usually nowhere in sight, suggesting that they are merely gags meant to lighten up the situation and not an actual part of the jutsu. Additionally, the normal practice of switching places with a section of log is done in several places that have no such thing anywhere nearby.

This technique is sometimes referred to as the Art of Projection ("Utsusemi no Jutsu") in other manga and anime series.

Shibi Aburame (油女シビ, Aburame Shibi), called "Gen Aburame" in the English Naruto Trading Card Game (Also in the official Naruto Character Profile book episodes 38- 80), is the father of Shino Aburame. The second databook says that he is "a self-possessed figure, the pride of Aburame," suggesting that he may be the leader of the Aburame clan.

Once trapped, the bugs would normally drain the chakra and swallow their victim. If the victim was to escape from the globe, the bugs should be able to follow them instantly. The bugs covering the victims body also prevents movement which prevents them from using any jutsu to escape. This jutsu was used against Tobi, but he managed to escape by using a time space ninjutsu.

Shino Aburame (油女シノ, Aburame Shino) is a rarely seen character who has a fascination with bugs; most of his spare time is spent watching bugs and he often makes analogies to bugs when talking. In addition to liking bugs, Shino is characterized by his emotionless, solitary, and collected way of doing things. He speaks very bluntly and never allows emotion to interfere with his judgment, sometimes offending people in doing so. These odd traits have caused people to identify Shino as "creepy" or "weird," and they tend to dislike being in his company. Despite his odd personality, Shino has a very strong sense of connection with his teammates and allies, first seen when he regrets being unavailable and therefore unable to help with retrieving Sasuke Uchiha. From that point further he resolves to work on his teamwork skills, even helping Hinata Hyuga to improve her abilities, and providing her with encouragement. The fruits of his efforts are seen throughout the filler arcs where Shino is able to carry out a mission successfully while keeping others safe. He also proves to be able to understand his teammates' inner workings, as he can sense when the slightest of things is wrong with either of them.

Akimichi Choji
Choji Akimichi (秋道チョウジ, Akimichi Chōji) is a long-time friend of Shikamaru Nara. When his fellow peers would keep Choji from playing with them because of his size, Shikamaru stuck up for him and spent time with him instead of playing with the others. Because of Shikamaru's willingness to look past Choji's athletic deficiencies and recognize his true strength, Choji came to view Shikamaru as his best friend who he would do anything for. Choji is characterized by his love for food, his favorite being Korean barbecue, general snacks and sweets, and basically anything that is edible. His nigh-constant hunger is a constant annoyance for his teammates, as sating himself often comes before other necessities such as stealth and teamwork. Despite his eating habits Choji is very sensitive about his size and becomes highly agitated when somebody calls him "fat" (he refers to himself as "big boned," "chubby," or "pleasingly plump"). Once called "fat," Choji's resolve to fight is elevated to new levels and he becomes much more hostile to his opponents. In Part II he starts to look more muscular than obese, causing him to look like he always claimed he did: big-boned. Also in Part II, his attire is more like his father's red armor. Even with this new look, he is apparently still sensitive about his size, and others make it a point to avoid using the word "fat" around him.

This jutsu is basically the same as the Human Bullet Tank, but Choji wraps himself in kunai tied to strings to make it more damaging. The kunai also make him move faster since Choji has more traction than in his normal ball form.

A variation of this jutsu is to use one's hair to wrap around the user's body if it is long enough, in a manner similar to Jiraiya's Needle Jizō technique, as shown during the battle against Kakuzu and Hidan.

This is a secret jutsu passed down in the Akimichi clan that expands the user's stomach. This jutsu increases the user's body size by using up the user's food energy, converting calories into chakra. Akimichi clan members tend to eat fattening foods and have large physiques in order to support this technique. When Choji Akimichi uses this jutsu in Part I, it gives him a very round appearance. When he uses it in Part II it increases his size, similar to the Super Multi-Size Technique.

Butterfly Bullet Bombing

This technique is used in combination with the red Akimichi food pill (also known as the chilli pill), which burns away all of a ninja's excess fat and converts it into chakra. Because the members of the Akimichi clan tend to be overweight to support their jutsu, this pill can give them 100 times their normal chakra level. However, anyone who eats it will die unless given medical attention as described in the Nara clan's medicine book soon after. To perform the jutsu, the clan member simply channels all their chakra into one hand and punches the enemy, releasing the chakra on contact. The subsequent impact not only produces a sizable crater, but is almost guaranteed to kill the one on the receiving end.

Ballistic Waterwheel

After the user swallows a great amount of water to make themselves into a human-sized ball, they tuck their limbs inside their clothes and use chakra to propel themselves into a powerful roll. This is an excellent technique to use against Water Release users as it not only nullifies their attack but also turns it against them.

Baki
Baki (バキ) is a member of Sunagakure's advisory council and leads the Sand Siblings during the Chunin Exams of Part I. Baki is a loyal, kind and a respected ninja. With his experience in battle, he holds a lot of confidence. During the Chunin exam, he had confidence in the ability of all of his team members, although he comments on Kankuro not taking the battles seriously enough. He also worries frequently about Gaara's mental stability and his control over Shukaku.

This jutsu creates a blade of wind. The blade is said to be impossible to block because of its intangible nature. Unlike the Cutting Whirlwind Technique, this jutsu requires no tool.

Chiriku (地陸) was one of the Twelve Guardian Ninja, who once was hired to protect the Land of Fire's Daimyo.

He was once part of the Twelve Guardian Ninja, at which time he developed a strong friendship with Asuma Sarutobi. When six of the members tried a coup d'etat he alongside fought against them along with the other five members of their group. Chiriku, Asuma, and Kazuma were the only survivors of the fight.

When the group disbanded he became head monk at the Fire Temple, an elite monastery that is home to monks with special abilities. During his time with the Twelve Guardian Ninja, some underground organization put a 30 Million Ryō bounty on his head.

Chiriku's Jutsus (2) Sealed Iron Wall

A seal placed on the Fire Temple's gate, in order to defend against intruders from the outside world. The two statues placed on either side of the gate form a barrier. The seal can only be canceled by pouring in the Gift of the Hermit Group (仙族の才, Senzoku no Sai), special chakra peculiar to the shinobi monks (忍僧, ninsō).

Amida's 1000-arm Death Embrace

Kakuzu called this technique "a gift of the gods." This jutsu is activated by Chiriku using his left hand to make a half-ram and extending his right hand down with his palm parallel to the ground. Music starts playing as Chiriku summons the spirit of Amida. The spirit seems to envelop Chiriku and react to his emotions. The spirit is normally calm and both angelic and peaceful looking, but whenever Chiriku gets angry, the spirit turns red and transforms into a somewhat demonic-looking creature. Amida then attacks Chiriku's target with its 1000 spirit fists. The fists attack at such a high speed and number, it seems almost impossible to block. He uses this technique against Kakuzu and Hidan when they attacked the Fire Temple. However, both Hidan and Kakuzu survived this technique.

Asuma is shown able to use this technique; although not as effective as Chiriku's since the size of the spirit that envelops him is much less.

Chiyo

Chiyo, often called "old-lady Chiyo" or "Granny Chiyo" (チヨバア様, Chiyo-baa-sama) by the Sunagakure villagers, was the village's poison and puppet expert. She and her brother Ebizo were highly revered in Sunagakure and were known as the "Siblings" (御姉弟, Gokyōdai). Chiyo was very knowledgeable when it came to handling poisons and used her skills often during the Second Great Shinobi World War, only to be countered numerous times by Tsunade's medical expertise. This caused Chiyo to hold a grudge against Tsunade, who she came to call "that slug-girl" (あのナメクジ娘, Ano Namekuji-musume).

Chiyo was responsible for sealing the One-Tailed Shukaku inside of Gaara under the orders of the Fourth Kazekage. After this, Chiyo and her brother removed themselves from the affairs of Sunagakure and spent their time together, where Chiyo would play jokes on her brother by pretending she had died just to scare him.

Chiyo also expressed a desire to kill Sakumo Hatake due to the fact that he killed her son and daughter-in-law, thus leaving her grandson Sasori orphaned. After that Chiyo tried to help Sasori ease the pain by caring for him and teaching him the Puppet Technique. Chiyo would later watch Sasori create his first puppets that would resemble his own parents. This was meant to fill the void of his parents dying. When Sasori left Sunagakure he abandoned the puppets, showing that he gave up on them.

This medical ninjutsu allows the user to speed up the body's natural healing process by sending chakra from their hands into a wound or afflicted body part. This allows the user to heal a patient without the need for medical equipment or surgery, making it highly useful on the battlefield. It can be used to treat both external and internal injuries. It is vital to match the amount of chakra used to the severity of the affliction or injury. This requires a great amount of chakra control. Because of this, only a few highly skilled medical-nin are able to use this technique.

By sending an excess amount of chakra into the patient's body, the user can overload the patient's normal circulation, trapping them in a comatose state. Although this is usually undesirable, Kabuto Yakushi once effectively used this side effect to get Kiba Inuzuka out of his way.

White Secret Technique: Ten Puppet Collection of Chikamatsu

Created by the inventor of the Puppet Technique, Monzaemon Chikamatsu, these puppets somehow fell into Chiyo's possession, who uses this technique while battling Sasori in the Akatsuki hideout in the River Country. Chiyo pulls out a scroll, and summons ten puppets which she controls with her fingers. Chiyo's skill in controlling these 10 puppets at the same time have her renowned as "Chiyo's Quintessential Ten Fingers" or "Finger by Finger" and have been said to help take over an entire castle. This puppet play is so powerful that Chiyo had swore to herself that she would never use it again, but broke that vow to stand up to Sasori. The technique is phenomenally powerful as despite a ten to one disadvantage in the battle against Sasori, Chiyo and Sakura were able to win a brutal war of attrition against Sasori's Red Secret Technique: Performance of a Hundred Puppets and one hundred chakra- using human puppets which were supposed to be superior.

The Puppets

Despite the puppets association with Chiyo as the name indicates she did not create this technique. As told by Sasori the technique and the puppets were the masterpiece collection created by Monzaemon Chikamatsu, the founder of the Puppet Technique, and it can be assumed that the symbol on each of the puppets is his crest. One advantage that the ten puppets had over Sasori's hundred puppets is that they were designed to operate in tandem and in combination, as opposed to individual puppets merely operated at the same time. Donned in white coats, each of the puppets have different sets of skills and weapons. The 10 puppets' and their skills are listed below. Unfortunately, given that they were created back in the day when shinobi puppetry still wasn't such a generally-accepted ninja art, the puppets carried a rather limited amount of weaponry and features on-board. Nevertheless, it is exactly for this reason why they don't exhibit the same clicking sound that most puppets shown in the series display, making them ideal (to an extent) for stealth.

Puppet #1 - This puppet somewhat resembles an "oni" (demon). Although it possesses no weapons, its striking power is immense. This puppet primarily uses its large fists as a means to fend off attackers. It is always kept closer to Chiyo in case of defense.

Puppet #2 - This puppet is able to extend its arms to form a sort of cage where it can launch bombs from its mouth. Since the explosion is accurate and very small, it deals great amount of damage to enemies while not damaging the cage. This puppet is also proficient at taijutsu.

Puppet #3 - Puppet 3 has one eye and is capable of releasing an orb from its mouth. When a person throws this orb, it expands rapidly to pin its opponents against a surface. Once activated, this orb releases a seal that blocks the prisoners chakra ability. When fully expanded, the orb has an uncanny resemblance to the One-Tailed Shukaku. The puppet can also release the seal directly from its mouth but at a much slower rate.

Puppet #4 - This puppet has a hairstyle almost similar to Konoha's Fourth Hokage holds the mark of Buddha in its mouth that activates Three Buddhist Treasures Vacuum Destruction technique when used in conjunction with Puppets 6 and 8. Three Buddhist Treasures Vacuum Destruction is a technique where Puppets 4, 6, and 8 form a pyramid with a small space at the center. Prior to activation, Chiyo and the three puppets form a seal that opens a powerful vacuum that sucks anything in front of the technique. However, the vacuum is prone to overloading, leaving the three puppets vulnerable.

Puppet #5 - A red puppet that works together with Puppet #9. It is able to lift its face to reveal a spinning orb with four chakra blades. Since these blades are made of chakra and spin rapidly, even a scrape can prove deadly. The fact that it could use a chakra-based attack despite the fact that its not a human puppet signifies Monzaemon's ingenuity

Puppet #6 - This Puppet holds an "Acts" seal in its mouth and works with Puppets #4 and #8 to activate Three Buddhist Treasures Vacuum Destruction technique.

Puppet #7 - This puppet resembles a girl with red hair and buns. It possesses two large swords capable of cleaving through enemies with ease, although the sheer magnitude of the weapons reduces the puppet's dexterity. Puppet #7 is the main attacker and can fend off even the strongest of enemies at an alarming rate.

Puppet #8 - This Puppet holds the "Priest" seal and works in conjunction with puppets 4 and 6 to activate Three Buddhist Treasures Vacuum Destruction.

Puppet #9 - A puppet with long black hair. Works in conjunction with puppet 5. Puppet #9 is able to extend its hand via chain link and connects with Puppet 5 to hurl it around and slice mid-ranged to close-ranged targets quickly and effectively. However, if #9 were to be destroyed, #5 would become vulnerable.

Puppet #10 - A bald puppet with big holes in its skull. This puppet's hidden weapons are the long extending cords coiled in the skull that pierce numerous enemies at a time. Since the range is very long, it can pierce very far away targets without even getting close. Also it is able to latch onto opponents with its cords and then crumble them slowly. Puppet #10 can also use its hands and legs to fight, but lacks physical power.

What has been known after the battle is that Puppet #9, Puppet #5 and Puppet #10 were the only ones to have not been destroyed. However Puppet #9 was the only one to be confirmed when Tobi and Zetsu searched for Sasori's ring.It is unknown what happened to them after Elder Chiyo's Death.

Three Buddhist Treasures Vacuum Destruction

The Three Buddhist Treasures Vacuum Destruction technique uses Puppets 4, 6, and 8 to form a three man pyramid. Puppet 4 activates the technique which creates a powerful vacuum that pulls everything in front of it through the small opening between the three, destroying them.

Sealing Technique: Lion Closing Roar

This sealing technique completely blocks the target's chakra with a sealing formula (封印式, fūin-shiki) drawn on the ground or a wall. This is done by closing all the tenketsu of the person caught in the middle. Signifying this is the stylised kanji for "close," or "shut" (閉, hei) drawn in the middle of the sealing formula.

To successfully seal the target, one has to get them exactly inside the sealing formula. This requires great accuracy and is very difficult. Various methods can be used to make this easier. For instance, one can prepare a puppet or a ninja tool like the Lion-Headed Kannon with this sealing formula.

Puppet Technique

This jutsu uses strings of chakra to control puppets like marionettes. Any number of chakra strings can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill can use fewer strings per puppet. Both Chiyo and Sasori demonstrated the ability to control entire puppets perfectly using just one string. While most puppeteers would normally be able to control ten puppets at most (one per finger), Sasori's self-modification allowed him to control up to one hundred puppets at a time.

Apart from being used to control marionettes, the chakra strings can be attached to other objects, allowing the user to control, or at the very least disrupt, other things. In one instance, Kankuro uses chakra strings to trip Naruto Uzumaki when they first meet. In another, Chiyo uses chakra strings to control a person like a puppet.

This technique has few weaknesses: since the puppeteer uses his or her hands to manipulate the puppets, if the hands are disabled, then the technique could be neutralized. Also, while controlling the doll, the user is wide open if the opponent bypasses the puppet. For this reason, puppeteers avoid battle, relying almost exclusively on their puppets instead.

A puppet performance technique where chakra threads are attached to various spots on a person's body; the head, torso, both arms, and both legs. The person being manipulated gains the ability to not only use their own techniques, but the skills of the puppeteer as well.

One's Own Life Reincarnation

Chiyo created this technique while a member of Sunagakure's Puppet Brigade. The purpose of the technique was to give life to puppets, the puppets she had in mind being those of Sasori's parents. When the technique was found to require the sacrifice of the user's life, the project was halted and it was labeled a kinjutsu. To use this technique, Chiyo transfers her life-force to the intended target. She first tries to use it on Sakura Haruno, but since Sakura isn't dead yet it doesn't cost her her life. She later uses it on Gaara to atone for sealing the One-Tailed Shukaku in his body, the reason for his death.

Mechanic Light Shield Seal

This chakra shield can be installed in any puppet. A mechanism inside the puppet opens its arms into a couple of segments, through which the user radiates their chakra. The chakra spreads out like a thin film and turns into a protective sheet, preventing all physical attacks, and some jutsus including Iron Sand thus keeping the user safeguarded. Chiyo installs one into her own arm and into the puppet of Sasori's father and mother.

Manipulating Attack Blades

The user makes kunai knives float in mid-air as he or she uses chakra to control them and direct them to an opponent. Chiyo does something similar by using the strings generated for the Puppet Technique to control discarded puppet weapons for herself.

Deidara
Deidara (デイダラ, Deidara) is a missing-nin from Iwagakure. Before joining Akatsuki, Deidara acted as a terrorist bomber for hire, where his work attracted the attention of Pein. Pein sent other Akatsuki members to recruit Deidara, though he refused. After being defeated by Itachi Uchiha, however, Deidara was forced to join the organization. Deidara maintains a deep loathing for Itachi from that point further and becomes determined to defeat him, even training one of his eyes to overcome Itachi's signature ability: genjutsu. His main ability is to create clay animals that explode when he use the command Katsu, he calls it art believing the most beautiful thing about them to be their detonation. Deidara also can make bigger clay birds to use them as a transport. This jutsu are created by making the mouths of his hand eat clay. He also has a mouths in his chest that if they eat clay, Deidara will explode himself and die. His clay jutsu are divided in different levels from C1 to C4. Deidara was partnered with Sasori upon joining the organization, whose artistic ability and insight Deidara admired. After Sasori's death Deidara is paired with Tobi whom he treats as a disciple. Despite Tobi's habit of accidentally angering Deidara, Deidara takes great care to keep Tobi out of harm's way and even dedicates his final moments to apologizing to him.
Deidara's Jutsus (10) Suicide Bombing Clone

Exploding Clay

Using the mouths in the palms of his hands, Deidara can infuse clay with chakra. He then molds it into a shape depending on the abilities he wants it to have and spits it out. After molding the clay, Deidara can enlarge it to various sizes depending on the intended purpose of the clay. Once enlarged, the clay creations can be brought to life and controlled remotely by Deidara. Deidara can make the clay explode by saying Katsu (喝). Though the explosives are powerful, they are all earth-based techniques, and as such, can be defused by a lightning technique.

Deidara ranks his clay by number in a fashion similar to the C4 explosive, the weakest being C1 and the most powerful being C4. The other clay ranks are much more dangerous than C1, and any foe that sees Deidara use any rank higher than C1 is usually one Deidara sees as a worthy opponent:
◦C1: Deidara's most basic and versatile form of explosive clay created from a single palm mouth. These are small animated dolls that often resemble small birds or insects, though he has once made snakes with them. They have little explosive power, making them excellent for covert operations. He can release them at high speeds.
◦C2 "Dragon" (ドラゴン, Doragon): One of Deidara's specialties; a large dragon, capable of flight. While Deidara is safely on its back, the dragon spits out smaller clay figures that attack the opponent like guided missiles. The dragon also produces clay mines, which is used to force opponents to fight in a limited space.
◦C3: Deidara's most powerful large scale bomb, an enormous, roughly human-shaped statue that Deidara drops on targets from above. Its explosive power was great enough to apparently destroy a large portion of a village.
◦C4 "Garuda" (カルラ, Karura; Viz "C4 Karura"): A giant doll, shaped like Deidara himself. When it ruptures, a cloud of microscopic bombs is released. Impossible to be seen by normal people, the victims breathe in the bombs, which then enter the bloodstream. Once there, the countless micro-bombs explode, causing the victims' bodies to disintegrate at the cellular level, literally turning them into dust. According to Deidara, he created C4 for the sole purpose to defeat Itachi.
◦C0 "Ultimate Art" (究極芸術, Kyūkyoku Geijutsu): Deidara's most powerful jutsu; a suicidal technique in which he eats a large ball of clay with the mouth on his chest. This consumes his entire body, condensing the body into a large black sphere with jagged teeth and pupil-less eyes. The sphere then opens up and detonates, destroying everything within a blast that covers more than ten kilometers.

This technique changes earth into fine sand by channeling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. While underground, one can sense what is happening on the surface and use that information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. One can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy can't reach. Tobi used this attack to hide some Exploding Clay underground. Deidara used this technique to escape damage of one of his exploding suicide clones in the fight against Team Guy, and Team Kakashi.

This consumes his entire body, condensing the body into a large black sphere with jagged teeth and pupil-less eyes. The sphere then opens up and detonates, destroying everything within a blast that covers more than ten kilometers.

The detonation is so powerful that Sasori has to make the Third Kazekage puppet create an iron sand barrier to shield Sasori and Deidara from the blast.

Fudou (フドウ, Fudō) is part of the group of grave robbers who have dug up four of the dead Twelve Guardian Ninja. He is the brute force of the group and is usually seen pairing up with Fuen.

Personality

Fudou is portrayed as an arrogant brawler, further enhanced by his wild hair and bear-like stature. He has great confidence in his abilities and despises being looked down upon. During his first battle against Team Yamato, he ridiculed Fuen for not giving him the credit he deserved for the trap. Fudou, being so reliant on his strength, tends to underestimate his opponents and thereby allows smarter opponents to easily deceive him.

Abilities

Fudou's battle style relies mainly on his earth element jutsu and physical strength. Despite his brutish nature, he has proven to be very crafty and skilled in earth-based jutsu, being able to use such wide-scale technique with seemingly no effort and to help catch his opponents off guard. During the initial attack on Konoha, his earth-based prowess was shown from being able to easily take down dozens of Leaf ninja while almost casually walking towards his destination. The pinnacle of his earth-chakra prowess has been seen from his ability to summon earth and alter it around the entire terrain to suit his jutsu needs.
Another ability of his is to utilize his earth chakra to absorb the properties of stone around him to form a skin-deep armor capable of defending him from nearly all forms of physical attacks and at the same time make his strikes more destructive. In addition, he has demonstrated tremendous taijutsu prowess as evident from how many Leaf ninja he took down on his own. He has also shown tremendous strength as seen from how effortlessly he broke free from Yamato's wood bindings. Also, he can summon chakra into the palm of his hand to become visible and enhance his strikes. His precision of this was shown great enough to engrave a Leaf emblem in rock.

The range of the pit is determined by how much chakra is put into the jutsu. The antlion theme fits in with Kagero Fuma's appearance, emphasizing her large jaw in this form.

Fūka (フウカ) is a kunoichi that appears in the first filler arc of Shippuuden. She is part of the group of grave robbers who have dug up four of the dead Twelve Guardian Ninja. Despite her young and beautiful appearance, her unusual powers and hagged appearance at one point suggest that she is much older than she seems. She is seen being very interested in people with wind elemental chakra like Naruto.

This jutsu requires a scroll on which a blueprint of a particular area should be. It will cause four giant gates to emerge north, east, south, and west of the desired area. Afterwards, the gates will form a protection barrier around the area. This barrier has a very high durability, anything that makes contact with it will immediately be engulfed in flames. The only way to pass through the barrier unharmed is with a special seal.

Kagero Fuma (カゲロウ, Fūma Kagero) was a member of the Fūma clan. She was among the Fuma clan members who were deceived by Orochimaru. She was one of a three-member group (alongside Jigumo Fuma and Kamikiri Fuma) who guarded Orochimaru's base in the Land of Rice Fields.

This is a suicide jutsu. The user of this jutsu creates threads of chakra that will be used to connect the user's heart to another person's heart. Only a special Fuma clan seal can cut the threads and safely free the two.

Antlion Ninja Arts: Ephemeral

The user creates four firefly-like chakra wings and fires out a powerful energy blast from them. Kagero claims that this jutsu can be used only once in a lifetime, since it consumes so much chakra that the user is left in a near death state after performing it. Jiraiya uses the Summoning: Toad Mouth Bind to shield himself and Naruto from this attack.

Gamabunta (ガマブン太) is the boss of the toads that are summoned. He is huge (about 100 meters high) and is summoned for battles with the biggest of enemies. At first, Naruto could only summon him with the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's chakra. Without it, Naruto could only call upon some of Gamabunta's smallest children. Gamabunta was first seen in the premiere of the series, where he and the Fourth Hokage face off against the demon fox. He is not given a speaking role until he is first summoned by Naruto.

An advanced form of the Transformation Technique, the Combination Transformation transforms two users into one being. One user usually provides the chakra while the other performs the necessary hand seals. Naruto uses this with Gamabunta in their fight against Gaara's full Shukaku form to assume the appearance of a giant fox (the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox in the anime). Kiba and Akamaru created their own variation of this technique with the Man Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf. The Sound Four used this during the Chunin Exam arc to disguise themselves as the Fourth Kazekage's Bodyguards (two in each).

Goshigaki Kisame

Kisame Goshigaki (干 柿鬼鮫) is a missing-nin from Kirigakure. He gets along considerably better with Itachi than most Akatsuki members do with their own partners, immediately doing as Itachi asks of him and always looking out for Itachi's well-being. His former country, now seeks him out for plotting to overthrow its government and being involved in numerous assassinations. When he was still loyal to Kirigakure, he was one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist (霧の忍刀七人衆, Kiri no Shinobigatana Shichinin Shū). Like other characters who have trained to be one of the Seven Swordsmen, Kisame enjoys mutilating his opponents.

Water Release: Five Eating Sharks is a technique that Kisame summoned to try and kill Might Guy while Team Guy was trapped in the Water Prison Technique. Kisame can use this technique only after using Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave. He puts his hand on the surface of a body of water and a water shark comes out of each finger to attack the opponent. They all come in consecutive attacks, starting with one, two, three, four and finally all five start to come into contact. However, because they are made with water, if they are completely separated from it they will degenerate back into normal water.

Water Prison Technique

This jutsu is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. Clones can be used in place of the actual person, provided that the clone is the one that performed the technique. This jutsu can't be performed without a sufficiently large body of water to supply the water for it. Neji Hyuga has been able to use his ability to release chakra from all of his pressure points to disrupt the flow of chakra inside the prison and break free. Despite the fact that the prison is made up entirely out of water, and the target is unable to move while within it, the target is still able to speak. However, the one imprisoned still has to maintain the ability to breathe.

Water Clone Technique

The Water Clone Technique is similar to the Shadow Clone Technique except it creates clones out of water. Like the other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to preform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert back to normal water.

Samehada

Samehada is a large unique sword of comparable size to Zabuza Momochi's Decapitating Carving Knife. Unlike a regular sword, Samehada is covered in large scales that shave instead of cut, much like a shark's skin (hence the name). It also has the ability to absorb any chakra around it, allowing Kisame to literally cut through his opponent's chakra. The amount that it can absorb is unclear, but it can even consume the demon fox's chakra with no ill effects.

Samehada is also a sentient weapon and only allows Kisame to wield it. In the words of Kisame, "It acknowledges only me." When Might Guy attempted to hold Samehada and use it against Kisame, it responded with a flurry of spikes protruding from its handle and found its way back to Kisame. This weapon is also highly sought after by Taka member Suigetsu Hozuki, and is stated to be the sole reason Suigetsu joined Sasuke in his hunt for Itachi Uchiha. Suigetsu believes that he will be able to wield Samehada if he kills Kisame, but it is unknown if this is actually true.

Gaara (我愛羅) is the Fifth Kazekage (五代目風影, Godaime Kazekage), the youngest child of the Fourth Kazekage, and the youngest brother of Kankuro and Temari. Being raised as a tool of Sunagakure, Gaara gained the nickname Gaara of the Sand Waterfall (砂瀑の我愛羅, Sabaku no Gaara). Prior to Gaara's birth, Sunagakure saw a series of budget cuts that made it difficult for the village to operate. As a result, Gaara's father ordered Chiyo to seal the Shukaku within Gaara during his birth in the hopes that he would become the ultimate weapon for the village.Because a sacrifice was needed, Gaara's mother, Karura, was used. Before she died, Karura cursed Sunagakure, hoping Gaara would avenge her death. As with the other demon hosts, Gaara acquired a physical trait of the tailed beast inside him - in his case, dark rings around his eyes resembling those of the Shukaku. These rings are also indicative of his insomnia--he cannot sleep, or else the Shukaku will consume his personality.

This jutsu creates a floating eyeball out of sand that is connected to Gaara's optic nerves. Gaara can control the size of the eye depending on its use. Its main purpose is spying, since it can form and disperse in any location on command. This jutsu was used when Gaara fought Sasuke in the Chunin exams and was surrounded by the Sphere of Sand.

Gaara surrounds himself entirely in a protective orb of sand to guard against attacks. He then uses the Third Eye to watch his opponents' movements and control sand as necessary to battle them. In addition to being extremely dense, this sand-sphere can form spikes from its surface to spear any would-be attacker who thinks that their own physical strength will be enough to penetrate it. Gaara can also use this technique to shield himself from his opponent long enough to perform his transformation into the One-Tailed Shukaku, as demonstrated in his match against Sasuke Uchiha in the Chunin Exam.

This absolute defense can be broken down by Chidori, as shown when Sasuke versed him in the Chunin Exams, immediately stopping the transformation.

Sky Sand Protective Wall

This jutsu causes sand to automatically surround and protect Gaara from harm, even if it's self-inflicted, regardless of whether or not he wants it to. The shield is capable of withstanding considerably strong attacks and projectiles, and can be hardened to a point where it's stronger than steel. It can be defeated by avoiding it completely with extremely high-speed attacks, or merely overcoming the shield with incredible brute force.

After wrapping an opponent with sand, Gaara will cause the sand to implode and crush whatever is within. When used to kill a person, the death is so quick that there isn't even time to feel pain. The pressure also produces a sizable fountain of blood. Gaara can control the pressure used in the attack, which allows him to merely break bones or completely liquefy an opponent.

Gaara creates a copy of himself out of sand, though it lacks color and is immediately recognizable as sand. This means that it is almost useless as a decoy. Unlike most bunshinjutsu, the clone still retains its shape after it's struck, and can even ensnare whatever comes into contact with it.

In the anime, Sasori uses a Sand Clone as a body replacement to avoid Kankuro's Black Secret Technique Machine One Shot, though it dissolves once injured.

Sand Binding Prison

Gaara uses an enormous quantity of sand to completely envelop the target from every direction and capture them. The speed, hardness, and scope of the sand depend on the amount of chakra poured into it. This allows Gaara to fine-tune the sand's properties to the size and characteristics of the target.

No matter if the target is on the ground or flying in the air, it is almost impossible to escape from this technique. However, even if someone successfully escapes from it, Gaara can easily use one of his offensive techniques, like the Sand Binding Coffin, to immediately attack the target.

This jutsu sends a massive amount of sand towards an opponent in the form of a wave, covering and "drowning" them in an ocean of sand. In addition to the wave effect of the jutsu, Gaara can control the sand, allowing him to attack his opponent while they attempt to outrun the wave. This appears to be the only one of Gaara's moves that requires hand seals, and in practice is virtually unavoidable. It is usually followed by an area crushing technique to kill the opponent.

Using his ability to manipulate sand, Gaara will loosen the ground below his targets and cause them to sink two hundred meters into the earth. By being imprisoned at this depth, the pressure will completely nullify their ability to move. Also, the pressure resulting from being buried at such an extreme depth would surely kill any normal human, if not from suffocation, although Kimimaro did survive the experience because of his bone strength.

Though quite effective, maintaining the armor requires a large amount of chakra and stamina. Furthermore, it is nowhere as resilient as the Shield of Sand, since it easily breaks away upon impact, meaning that the sole purpose of the armor is to absorb impact channeled unto Gaara's body during battle.

Hana Inuzuka (犬塚ハナ, Inuzuka Hana) is a kunoichi of Konohagakure, and a member of the Inuzuka Dog-user clan; Hana is the daughter of Tsume Inuzuka and the older sister of Kiba Inuzuka. She is an excellent and respected veterinarian. Her canine companions, are three nin-dog brothers: the Haimaru Sankyodai

Haku
Haku (白, Haku written in jōyō kanji, meaning "white") was born in a perpetually snowy village in the Land of Water. Although he lived in peace for a time, Haku eventually discovered that he had inherited a kekkei genkai from his mother, an ability that was irrationally feared at the time. Once Haku's father learned of their gift he rallied a small mob and had his wife murdered. He would have done the same to Haku, but Haku inadvertently created a field of icicles through the house in a panic, killing both the mob and his father. Orphaned, Haku wandered the Land of Water as a beggar child until he was found by Zabuza Momochi, who agreed to take him in as a tool, warning Haku not to expect any companionship. Haku readily accepted this role, devoting his life to becoming the ultimate weapon for Zabuza. Over the years Haku was trained by Zabuza and in time became fiercely protective of him, so much so that he would not allow anyone to touch him. In his devotion to Zabuza, Haku finds purpose in life only by being of use to Zabuza, and does whatever is asked of him to continue to give his own life meaning.

While the needles do surround a target from all sides, they don't appear above the target, creating an escape route. Haku is able to perform this jutsu with one-handed seals, allowing him to pin an opponent's arm and attack while they cannot use any techniques themselves.

Using his kekkei genkai, Haku can create a dome of twenty-one mirrors made out of ice to trap an opponent. Twelve remain at ground level, eight are placed above the first twelve and angled toward the ground, and the final mirror is above the rest and facing the ground. Haku can then enter one of the mirrors and instantly transport to another mirror. While moving about he bombards the opponent with attacks at very high speeds, such that the rest of the world appear to be moving in slow motion compared to him. If the mirror Haku is in is broken, he can leap out of one of the fragments and continue his attack or move to another mirror. The technique requires a large amount of chakra to maintain, so Haku's movement becomes progressively slower the longer he maintains the mirrors.

Though they are made from ice, the mirrors are imbued with enough chakra to resist fire almost completely (Sasuke's Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique was barely able to make the rimfrost melt).

Sakura Haruno (春野 サクラ, Haruno Sakura) is a fictional character. She is also a member of Kakashi Hatake's Team 7, originally consisting of herself, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sasuke Uchiha. She is also considered part of the Konoha 11.



Haruno Sakura's Jutsus (6) Chakra Scalpel

This medical technique forms one's chakra into a small, sharp blade. This can then be used for highly accurate incisions necessary for surgeries and anatomical dissections. Unlike regular scalpels, the chakra scalpel can actually make cuts inside the body without actually creating an open wound, limiting the risks of an infection.

The chakra scalpel can also be used offensively, although it requires great precision to be effective. Because of this requirement, using the chakra scalpel offensively is highly unusual. In heated combat, even the greatest medical-nin won't be able to exert the precision needed to make fatal cuts, but it can still effectively cuts muscle tissues and tendons, rendering the target immobile.

This is a jutsu in which the user focuses precise chakra control into their hands or feet to enhance their strength. Tsunade created the concept of this jutsu to intimidate enemies and keep them at bay while she heals injured ninja. This jutsu is a very practical, offensive technique for medical ninja because it is very intimidating and very effective in eliminating enemies so the medical-nin can return to their primary task of healing the injured as soon as possible.

The training for this technique is arduous. Tsunade repeatedly came at Sakura with full power to help her learn. Naruto realizes that he should stop playing around when he sees Sakura perform Cherry Blossom Impact, because he realizes she could kill him. Another technique utilizing this is Tsunade's Painful Sky Leg.

Delicate Illness Extraction Technique

When a person has been afflicted by a pathogen or toxin, this medical ninjutsu can be used to draw out the agent and heal the damage. First the cause of the illness is determined by perceiving disturbances in the patient's chakra. Then, using a chakra scalpel, an incision is made into the affected part. Using their chakra, the medical-nin then draws out the agent, while simultaneously repairing the damage it caused.

After the agent is drawn out, it can be used to create an antidote or medicine, which can then be given to the patient to ensure a complete recovery. This technique requires the utmost care and ability in diagnosis and incising and unmatched chakra control. Therefore, it is considered an extremely difficult technique, even among medical ninjutsu.

This medical ninjutsu allows the user to speed up the body's natural healing process by sending chakra from their hands into a wound or afflicted body part. This allows the user to heal a patient without the need for medical equipment or surgery, making it highly useful on the battlefield. It can be used to treat both external and internal injuries. It is vital to match the amount of chakra used to the severity of the affliction or injury. This requires a great amount of chakra control. Because of this, only a few highly skilled medical-nin are able to use this technique.

By sending an excess amount of chakra into the patient's body, the user can overload the patient's normal circulation, trapping them in a comatose state. Although this is usually undesirable, Kabuto Yakushi once effectively used this side effect to get Kiba Inuzuka out of his way.

Hatake Kakashi
Kakashi Hatake (はたけ カカシ, Hatake Kakashi) is a fictional character in the anime and manga series Naruto created by Masashi Kishimoto. He is the leader of Team 7, originally consisting of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. After Sasuke defects, Team 7 receives Sai as a replacement.

Kakashi is the son of the genius ninja, Sakumo Hatake who had respect on par with the Sannin. Like his father, Kakashi has been known since a young age as an extremely gifted ninja, regarded by many as the best of his generation. He has received top marks and has showed an innate aptitude for the ninja arts while in the academy. This permits him to graduate from it in a single year at the top of his class at the age of 5, becoming a Chunin one year later. However, his success comes at a great loss; His mother dies young while his father, after some time, falls into disgrace after choosing to save his comrades rather than completing an important mission, causing Konohagakure to suffer in the war effort. Dishonored, Sakumo takes his own life after a deep depression and a drop in his skills, which causes Kakashi to lead his life strictly by the ninja code.

Hatake Kakashi's Jutsus (30) White Light Chakra Sabre

The White Light Chakra Sabre (manga page) was a tanto that originally belonged to Sakumo, but then he passed it on to his son, Kakashi. Kakashi used it to fight Kakkou, and the blade was destroyed. The tanto gave of a white streak of chakra when it was swung that was only present in a Hatake family line.

Water Release: Water Encampment Wall

This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water that can be up to 360° if necessary. This wall of water is especially efficient at stopping fire techniques though is unable to defend against elemental fusion and combination techniques such as those employed by Kakuzu. In the manga the hand seal sequence for this jutsu ends in the same seal that activate the Byakugan, though Tobirama Senju only needs one to use this jutsu. Furthermore the anime creates a completely original and far more elaborate set of hand seals when Tobirama uses it in the form of having the right hand cupping the left hand with a thumbs-up. Kakashi Hatake after the time skip is shown to be able to execute this jutsu in an area with no water by blowing water from his mouth (through his mask) suggesting that the ninja only blows out a stream of chakra that turns into water externally. Tobirama also used this method during the Destruction of Konoha arc, and it was this jutsu that made the Konoha ANBU in attendance marvel at his ability to use such a high level technique in a place with no water, meaning it must be quite a remarkable feat.

Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique is a giant, powerful dragon created out of water. It is first revealed in the series by Zabuza Momochi and copied at the same time by Kakashi Hatake (although it is possible that he already knew the jutsu). This jutsu needs 42 hand seals, the most amount of hand seals necessary to use a jutsu shown in the series. Another drawback to the technique is that it requires the user to be near a large body of water to complete the technique. However, Tobirama Senju was able to produce one far from water and with only one hand seal, which was a testament to his skill and one of the reasons why he was selected as Hokage.

Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique is a technique that forms a strong column of water to attack an opponent. Due to the force of the water, the target will be fully enveloped and at the mercy of the current as they are pulled away. Kakashi Hatake hypnotized Zabuza Momochi to use this jutsu so that he could copy it with his Sharingan in their first fight.

This jutsu allows Kakashi to summon his own personal Ninken to perform special tasks. To use this technique, he rolls out a scroll and places a slid of blood on it. Afterwards he places it between his hands and makes the seals. With this he slams the scroll into the ground and releases several seals into the ground. This summons his eight Ninken that then travels through the ground following the scent of their target, emerging when the target is found and holds them in place, with their mouths. Also, Kakashi can summon them using a normal summoning skill, but they will not appear underground and are usually used for tracking in this state. When Kakashi uses the technique in the games, he will also strike immediately with the Lightning Blade

Shadow of the Dancing Leaf

The Shadow of the Dancing Leaf is used to position a ninja's opponent into a vulnerable aerial position. The ninja will first quickly appear below their opponent, then with a swift upper kick they will launch their target into the air. The ninja will then jump into the air to "shadow" the target with the target's back to their chest. Since this is the opponent's blind spot, it can be used as a set up to a number of jutsu. Rock Lee uses it in preparation for the Front Lotus. Sasuke, after copying it from Lee, uses it for his Lion Combo, but because he lacks Lee's training it puts some strain on his body.

Lightning Release Shadow Clone

This technique allows the user to make a shadow clone infused with lightning. Because it is a shadow clone, it is able to perform jutsu and interact with the environment due to it having physical substance. If the clone is injured, it will revert to its natural lightning-state, at the same time electrocuting whatever it is touching.

Lightning Hound

By manipulating lightning chakra into the dominant hand, the user can make the lightning expand to can create the form of a hound. The hound-shape remains connected to the user's hand with a bolt of lightning, allowing them to control it during its attack. Being a Lightning Release Ninjutsu, it requires a large amounts of chakra from the user to maintain and thus is a risk to use with a low chakra supply.

Lightning Blade

The Lightning Blade is an enhanced form of the Chidori with the same effects and drawbacks, but more concentrated. It is said to have gained its name after Kakashi split a bolt of lightning with it. Because the Chidori is already powerful on its own, the Lightning Blade requires better chakra control, which is exemplified in its appearance. The Chidori appears as simply a mass of white electrical chakra in the user's hand, while the Lightning Blade is more focused and blue. In Part I he is limited to using it four times a day, but by Part II he can use it at least six times.

Kakashi has shown different ways of forming and using the Lightning Blade. During his confrontation with Orochimaru in Part I, he creates it without using hand seals. In Part II he is able to form a Lightning Blade in both of his hands to counteract Lightning Release: False Darkness. Soon afterwards he uses it in a downward cutting motion rather than a thrust to free Naruto Uzumaki from Kakuzu.

To keep up with its name, Lightning Blade now emits the sound of electricity, rather than birds chirping.

Kamui

By focusing his Mangekyo Sharingan on a particular point, Kakashi can force that point to collapse in on itself, ultimately sending everything in the vicinity to another dimension. Kamui costs a large amount of chakra to perform, especially in Kakashi's case as his body has not completely adjusted to the Sharingan. Kakashi can only manage to use this technique up to three times in a given day even when starting at full strength. When first seen Kakashi's aim is imperfect, it taking two attempts to hit Deidara with the technique. By the time of Pain's attack on Konoha his aim has improved, being able to focus more accurately on fast moving objects. The chakra used by this technique is proportional to the mass of the target.

Front Lotus requires the opening of the first of the Eight Chakra Gates, giving the user five times their normal strength. The user launches the opponent into the air and then uses Shadow of the Dancing Leaf. Now behind his opponent, the user restrains them and pildrives them into the ground headfirst. Because it uses one of the chakra gates, the user is left extremely fatigued, making this jutsu a "double-edged sword." Kakashi has been shown to be able to use this technique, but to a much lesser degree than Gai and Lee.

After performing the necessary hand seals, a ninja inhales air via their mouth and, utilizing a large amount of fire chakra, spews a large fireball from their mouth, incinerating everything in range. The fireball ignites externally (as evidenced by Kakashi Hatake's ability to use the jutsu without burning his mask). The Uchiha clan uses the technique as a "coming of age" technique. This technique apparently requires more than average chakra reserves and most Genin should not be able to do this technique.

This jutsu is used to suppress jutsu-induced marks on a person. Marks of weaker power can be completely suppressed by this jutsu alone, but for marks of higher power like Sasuke Uchiha's Cursed Seal of Heaven, this seal is dependent on the recipient's willpower to some extent. It is also capable of holding back certain kekkei genkai, such as that of the Kurama clan as seen when Kurenai tried to do this. This seal requires a number of hand seals and a large amount of chakra to be performed.

Eight Gates

The Eight Gates are eight specific points on a person's Chakra Pathway System. They limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body. The basis for the idea of the chakra gates comes from the body's limits on the functions within it. This makes the body much weaker, but it keeps the body from expiring too soon. By opening these gates, the user can surpass their own physical limits at the cost of extreme damage to their own bodies.

Rock Lee is able to open the first five gates. Gai, who taught Lee the skill, is able to open at least six. Kakashi can open at least one gate, as shown during Kakashi's one-handed rock climbing where a shot of his brain shows the relevant point activating, as well as in his usage of the Front Lotus.

The state of having all Eight Gates open is known as Eight Gates Released Formation (八門遁甲の陣, Hachimon Tonko no Jin). Any shinobi who activates this state will temporarily gain powers greater than a Kage, but they will die because of the damage done to their body. However, in Naruto Shippūden 2: Bonds, Shinnō managed to use a technique that allowed him to open all the gates without any drawbacks.

8.Gate of Death (死門, Shimon) opens the final gate located at the heart and uses up all of the body's energy. It makes the heart pump at maximum power and exceeds the power of every other gate.

The Water Clone Technique is similar to the Shadow Clone Technique except it creates clones out of water. Like the other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to preform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert back to normal water.

As the name suggests, this technique is simply a very quiet method of killing an opponent, usually from behind with a blade. Additionally, because the user is very silent, it cannot be defended against. The user will often slit their opponent's throat, preventing any cry that might give them away. Zabuza was a master of this technique, and was even good enough to track and kill opponents through sound alone.

The Hidden Mist Technique was used by Zabuza in conjunction with this technique.

This is the basic form of all summoning techniques. It is a space/time type ninjutsu. When summoning an animal it requires a contract, hand seals and the user's blood. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can either be written on a scroll or tattoo to validate it. The hand that is used to make the signature with is used to summon. It should be noted that anyone can summon the animal as long as they have the blood from someone who has made a contract, along with sufficent chakra of their own. Animals are typically summoned from another location, for the toads it is from Myobokuzan‎. The target usually manifests itself after the ninja summoner strikes his hand or hands against any surface, afterwhich the specific summon will appear. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The amount of chakra used to summon the animal is proportional to the size and power of the summoned animal. Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle.

Shadow Clone Technique

Similar to the Clone Technique, this jutsu creates clones of the user. Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies, not illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. They can also disperse on their own.

Unlike other clone techniques, they can't be detected by the Byakugan because the clones have the exact same amount of chakra and aren't made from any other substance, making them indistinguishable from the actual person. Sasuke Uchiha claims that the Sharingan can tell the difference during his battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End, albeit they might just make him able to keep track of the original Naruto.

Advantages
Any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. This makes the technique ideal for spying, since the user can simply send a clone to spy on a target, then have the clone disperse itself without returning to pass the information back to the user. It's also useful for training purposes, since the total amount of experience the user gains is multiplied by the total number of clones being used to train.
Using it in this manner is far more difficult, however, since a large number of clones are needed to make a significant difference in the training time. It's unclear if other types of clones possess this advantage. Kakashi Hatake is the first in the series to reveal the side effect of this technique during Part II. The remaining chakra of a clone is also returned to the original, to some extent, as seen in Naruto's fight with Pain.

Disadvantages
Because of the manner in which the clones are created, the user must divide their chakra among the clones potentially using up all their chakra fairly quickly if the user is low on chakra or makes too many clones, such as Naruto does with Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, this jutsu's enhanced (and forbidden) form.
Naruto is able to use this technique to the extremes that he does because of his tailed beast, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, which gives him an abnormally high chakra level. Even without the demon fox's chakra, Naruto can make quite a few clones, but nowhere near on the level he can when he has access to the demon fox's chakra, creating up til 1999 clones, during his fight with Gaara, and possibly even more during his training, in Part II.

The technique can also be dangerous if the user is injured or has some otherwise debilitating physical condition at the time of the cloning, since all of the clones will be created in roughly the same state. As shown during training with Yamato, clones can begin to transform into the Nine-Tails unexpectedly. It should also be noted that while Naruto was going into the demon fox's cloak in his fight with Deidara the other clones seemed to be choking and dying as if the demon fox's chakra was killing them.

Attempting to use the clones for training purposes can also be mentally harmful to the user, as frequent use of this manner can result in mental fatigue, as Kakashi noted when he was training Naruto, but because of Naruto's stamina the mental fatigue cannot slow him down for long.

Rasengan

The Rasengan is a powerful technique invented by Minato Namikaze, though after three years of development it was never completed. Rasengan was meant to be an example of nature manipulation as Minato meant to combine his chakra element with the Rasengan. He died before he could accomplish this, but the Rasengan is still a very useful and difficult jutsu to learn.



Usage

In Part I, Jiraiya taught Naruto how to use the Rasengan, breaking the learning process into three steps:

◦The first step was learning how to burst a water balloon by spinning the water inside in multiple directions at once using only the user's chakra, which emphasizes rotation.
◦The second step was for the user to burst a rubber ball, and since rubber is thicker and air is completely different from water, it forces the user to use denser chakra to break it. This step emphasizes power.
◦The last and final step was to combine both step one and two by spinning chakra inside a balloon without moving the balloon itself, emphasizing stability of the sphere shape.
Although most users learn to form the Rasengan with one hand, Naruto and Konohamaru use one or more shadow clones to help in its creation. By having the hands of the shadow clones act as shells, Naruto and Konohamaru can use the complete technique without having to dedicate extra time to mastering their chakra control.

Naruto has been seen using a one-handed Rasengan when in a One-Tailed Transformation.

Effects
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Rasengan doesn't require any hand seals to use, relying only on the chakra control of the user. Once it's complete it becomes self-sustaining, which does not give Rasengan a definite limit of use like its counterpart, the Chidori. The compacted nature and moving speed of the chakra allows the Rasengan to grind into whatever it comes in contact with, causing major damage. This also tends to launch the target back once hit. In an anime filler arc, Naruto was able to perform this jutsu as a mid-range projectile technique by somehow throwing it into a wall.

The Rasengan was designed to use the caster's elemental affinities. Minato was unable to add his affinities to his Rasengan before he died. Kakashi tried to add his lightning element to the Rasengan but was unable to and explains that he uses the Chidori and Lightning Blade instead, which requires a certain point of shape manipulation and nature manipulation itself. Naruto was the first to add his Wind affinity to his Rasengan and even advanced it to the point that he was able to create the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

Improvement
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While in training, Naruto improved the Rasengan with the Great Ball Rasengan, after Jiraiya pointed out during their time away from Konohagakure that it would be easier to hit an opponent with a larger Rasengan. Later, Naruto mixed his Wind natured chakra to start developing the Wind Release: Rasengan as it was originally intended. Naruto took the Rasengan even further than his father by creating the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken, a variant of the Wind Release: Rasengan. However, this new technique also damaged the user's arm and chakra circulatory system, making it a double-edged sword. Even so, Naruto overcame this obstacle as shown during his fight with Pain when, in Sage Mode, he threw the Rasenshuriken, preventing damage done to his own body.

Naruto can also wield a Rasengan in both of his hands while in Sage Mode. Sage Art: Great Ball Rasengan uses two Great Ball Rasengan, while Sage Technique: Rasenrengan uses two regular Rasengan. Jiraiya is suggested to be capable of doing something similar; when teaching Naruto the Rasengan, he does the balloon exercise in both of his hands.

One Thousand Years of Death

A very simple technique with an over-dramatic name, One Thousand Years of Death is little more than inserting one's index and middle fingers (similar to the Tiger hand seal) into the opponent's rectum, causing constipation and/or embarrassment. Characters that see the jutsu react oddly (Temari blushes and Gamakichi shows a look of disappointment), while those who have used or experienced the jutsu show great fear in it being used on them.

While seemingly useless, the technique can be useful if used correctly. During the first bell test, Kakashi was able to throw Naruto a great distance, probably propelling him with chakra. Naruto would later find out that the point behind the technique was to target the opponents blind spot, and when one substitutes their fingers for a kunai with an explosive tag, it can be a lethal technique. The aforementioned variant has only been used by Naruto.

Multiple Shadow Clone Technique

This jutsu is basically a massive version of the Shadow Clone Technique. Instead of a few clones, it creates a few hundred clones (or a number of equal grandeur). This is considered a forbidden jutsu, because it can potentially be dangerous to the person performing it, seeing as how all of the clones are given an equal amount of chakra directly from the user. Naruto learned the technique from the scroll of forbidden seals written by the First Hokage.

Few people are able to use this technique effectively, due to the large amount of chakra it consumes. However, this weakness is not an issue to Naruto, due to his massive chakra reserves. Having such reserves allows him to create upwards of 2,000 clones while maintaining a decent supply of chakra in each one. This technique is also used by Naruto to train quickly, since all the clones share their experiences with Naruto, but it causes extreme fatigue with repeated use. Naruto does not appear to distinguish between the Multiple and regular variations of the technique, and often simply says "Shadow Clone Technique" regardless of how many clones he uses.

Chidori is Kakashi's first original technique, though he now uses an S-ranked version known as the Lightning Blade. He created it around the time he was promoted to Jonin, and later taught it to Sasuke.

Description and Effect
This jutsu channels a large amount of lightning-chakra to the user's hand. The high concentration of electricity produces a sound reminiscent of many birds chirping, hence the name. Once the technique is completed, the user charges forward and thrusts the Chidori into the target. This produces heavy amounts of damage that is usually fatal to humans. This technique is classified as an assassination technique because of the speed at which it is performed, despite the loud noise it produces.

Drawbacks
This jutsu has a major drawback, however. The speed at which the attack must be done, combined with the fact that the user must run in a straight line, causes a tunnel vision-like effect for the user. This allows the enemy to easily counter the attack, making it a potentially lethal move for the user. Though this drawback would seem to make learning the technique fairly pointless, Sasuke and Kakashi are able to avoid the drawback because of their Sharingan eyes, which take in every detail regardless of how fast the user is moving. As an additional drawback, the large amount of chakra required limits its use to a few times a day. In Part I Sasuke can only use it twice a day (under his own power) and Kakashi can use it four times, though their limits have been shown to have increased to an unspecified level in Part II. Should the user attempt to go beyond their limit, all of their chakra will be drained and their very life force could go along with it, killing them. An additional problem, though not necessarily a debilitating one, is the fact that the large amount of chakra can also injure the user's hand if they put too much force into the attack. Sasuke does this while battling his brother, Itachi Uchiha, causing some of the skin to peel from his hand and leaving it slightly smoldering after the attack was finished.

Use and Improvement
In Part II, Sasuke and Kakashi have mastered the principles of lightning manipulation and developed a number of other Lightning Release jutsu, most of which are derived from the Chidori.

Sakumo Hatake (はたけサクモ, Hatake Sakumo), also known as Konoha's White Fang (木ノ葉の白い牙, Konoha no Shiroi Kiba), is the father of Kakashi Hatake.

Sakumo was a famous and powerful ninja of Konohagakure who, during his life, was greater than even the Sannin. His son, Kakashi, idolized him and sought to become just as great a ninja as his father; his wife had died when Kakashi was very young. Five years before the events Kakashi Gaiden, Sakumo and his team were sent on a mission of great importance to Konoha. When his teammates' lives were endangered, Sakumo chose to abandon the mission in order to save them. He was disgraced when he returned home, shunned by everyone in the village, even those he had saved. Dishonored, Sakumo fell into a deep depression, as well as a drop in his skills. Eventually, he committed suicide, which caused Kakashi live strictly according to the Ninja Code for the next few years.

Personality

Sakumo was a very kind and loyal man. Despite his tremendous fame and power as a ninja, he was a very humble man, which made his only son Kakashi truly look up to and idolize him. He had a deep devotion to his country and an even greater commitment to his allies and loved ones to the point he would put their well-being before anything else. His commitment was so great that he would sacrifice the completion of a mission in order to save his teammates which led to him being a public figure of hate and ridicule.

Abilities

Like his son, Sakumo was a gifted shinobi praised for his talents in the ninja arts even by the likes of Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage. In battle, Sakumo was a truly powerful shinobi, his prowess at surpassing that of the Sannin. The mere idea of facing Sakumo brought fear to enemies, as shown from the reaction of an Iwagakure shinobi initially believing Kakashi to be his father. His primary weapon during battle was a tanto called the White Light Chakra Sabre that would emit a trail of white chakra when swung, earning him the nickname "Konoha's White Fang". After he died, he left his tanto to Kakashi, which was later on cut in half when Kakashi fought an Iwagakure shinobi.
Hatake Sakumo's Jutsus (1) White Light Chakra Sabre

The White Light Chakra Sabre (manga page) was a tanto that originally belonged to Sakumo, but then he passed it on to his son, Kakashi. Kakashi used it to fight Kakkou, and the blade was destroyed. The tanto gave of a white streak of chakra when it was swung that was only present in a Hatake family line.

Hidan
Hidan (飛段) is the foul-mouthed partner of Kazuku and is the second newest member of Akatsuki at the time of his expulsion. Hidan belongs to the Jashin ("evil god") religion, a religion that worships a deity of the same name and where anything less than utter destruction is considered a sin. Before battles start Hidan prays to Jashin and asks for nothing short of a kill or, when he is not allowed to kill his opponents, for forgiveness. After battles, should he have time, Hidan performs a thirty-minute ritual in accordance with his religion that culminates by stabbing himself in the chest and lying upon the ground. In addition to his religion Hidan has been gifted with immortality, and as such he is able to survive fatal wounds and even retains the ability to speak after being decapitated. Despite this, Hidan needs to be connected to his body in order to control it. Kakuzu assists him in these instances by reattaching his limbs, allowing the wounds to heal with time. Hidan's inability to die is also used to Kakuzu's advantage, as he can attack Hidan all he wants without worrying about finding a new partner afterwards. Although the two dislike working together, this advantage makes them the ideal team.
Hidan's Jutsus (2) Triple-Bladed Scythe

The Triple-Bladed Scythe is the primary weapon of Akatsuki-member Hidan. It's main purpose is to aid him in collecting blood for his Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood ritual. Because of this, it is designed, not so much to kill the target, but to wound them, no matter how big or small the wound.

The three blades get smaller from top to bottom, giving the scythe a larger range, despite decreasing it's lethality. The scythe is attached to a long cable, wound around two spools on Hidan's left hip. This cable is strong enough to block kunai and allows Hidan to further increase the scythe's range by swinging it through the air. Despite its large size, Hidan is remarkably nimble in manipulating it, being even capable of using the scythe to deflect incoming shuriken. The scythe can also split up and it has various other functions and gimmicks that were never shown.

Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood

This technique is Hidan's primary method of killing his opponents in a way of the Jashin religion.

First, Hidan makes every effort to draw blood from his opponent and consume it. After that, his skin turns black with white markings representing a skeleton, a symbol of absolute death. He then draws Jashin's symbol on the ground in blood and stands in the center. This serves as the link between him and his victim.

Once his sacrificial ritual takes place, the victim is linked with Hidan until he either steps or is forced out of the circle. Any kind of injury that Hidan inflicts upon himself (or the injury they inflicted on him) is inflicted upon his sacrifice, be it a mere scratch or a pierce in the heart. If Hidan is forced to step out of the circle, the link is broken and the victim is set free, but all Hidan has to do is to step back into the circle to reactivate the link. Basically, this technique makes Hidan a living voodoo doll.

Hidan's immortality is due to the "successful experiment of the Jashin religion's secret jutsu", so he can fatally torture his opponents in any way he desires without killing himself, and he clearly enjoys the pain on himself as well.

Hoki (宝亀, Hōki) is a ninja from the Takumi Village. He and his group abducted Matsuri, Gaara's student, to get access to Gaara's Shukaku powers to revive Seimei, Takumi Village's founder. He had a brief fight with Gaara in which he summoned all the weapons of his fallen team mates and used them to barrage Gaara with their combined attacks, short on chakara and his supply of sand had ran out he quickly fell. Then Naruto came to his defense but he also wasn't strong enough to hold against the power of the combined might of the Takumi Village so about to finish of Naruto, Gaara used the last of his chakara to protect him. Annoyed he turned his attention back to Gaara and trapped him in a sphere that ssiphoned off the remaining of Gaaras chakara. He used his body and Gaaras chakara to revive Seimei killing him. But getting his chakara drained brought Gaara into his Shukaku form and he killled Seimei.

Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique is a technique that forms a strong column of water to attack an opponent. Due to the force of the water, the target will be fully enveloped and at the mercy of the current as they are pulled away. Kakashi Hatake hypnotized Zabuza Momochi to use this jutsu so that he could copy it with his Sharingan in their first fight.

Hoshigakure (星隠れの里, Hoshigakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden Among Stars") was introduced during the Star Village filler arc. It is located in the Land of Bears and is one of the lesser-known Shinobi Villages in the Naruto Universe. Hoshigakure was formed sometime after a strange meteorite, which they call the "star", struck its location 200 years earlier. No trees or plants could grow around the vicinity after it landed. Dialog from its inhabitants suggests that the village can't have been founded much sooner than Konoha was. Its leader is the Hoshikage (星影, Star Shadow), though the leader is a Kage in name only. The other villages do not recognize Hoshigakure as an equal, nor is there any ninja truly worthy of the title.

The meteorite itself is not that large, but it emits a chakra-enhancing radiation. The First Hoshikage was able to devise a training method to allow the ninja in the village to harness the power of the star, allowing the ninja to gain supernatural chakra levels. The technique used to harness this power is the Mysterious Peacock Method. When this technique is fully mastered, it gives the user almost unrivaled chakra control, to the point where they can solidify it as a shield or create wings for flight. The training was eventually forbidden by the Third Hoshikage, after he realized the deadly toll the training took on those doing it; the Star's intense radiation of chakra was too much for some shinobi to handle, and thus their insides began to corrupt and their organs to weaken, eventually leading to internal bleeding or organ failure. Even if a ninja survived the training, the side effects would eventually kill them. Only Natsuhi and Hotorubi, the parents of Sumaru, managed to survive the training, and both died eventually. The Third was assassinated by Akahoshi, who became the substitute Hoshikage and reinstated the training. Knowing what the star did, he decided to ignore the effects in the hope of forcing the other villages to accept Hoshigakure.

Being allied with Hoshigakure, Team Guy was sent to Hoshigakure as bodyguards for a mission in episodes 178 to 183, and Naruto joins them by bribing Tsunade with high quality chocolates. There they meet Sumaru, who hopes to become a worthy Hoshikage. Naruto empathizes with Sumaru, since their goals, and general situations, are the same. Team Guy and Naruto eventually learn of the secret of the star, and two children who had undergone star training reveal the truth to the Star ninjas, who then denounce Akahoshi as unscrupulous and mad with power, rejecting the practice of star training. The star is destroyed by Naruto after Akahoshi implants it in his own chest.

Hoshigakure (village)'s Jutsus (1) Chakra Rope

This technique allows the ninja to extend their chakra out of their body into binding ropes. The chakra is said to be uncuttable.

Minato Namikaze (波風 ミナト, Namikaze Minato), also known as Konoha's Yellow Flash (木ノ葉の黄色い閃光, Konoha no Kiiroi Senkō), was the Fourth Hokage (四代目火影, Yondaime Hokage) and the father of Naruto Uzumaki. He was the student of Jiraiya and the teacher of Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin.



According to those who knew him, Minato was a very talented ninja, having been considered a genius that appeared once a generation. He graduated from the Ninja Academy at the age of ten and was added to a Genin team under the tutelage of Jiraiya. Jiraiya took a special interest in Minato and accepted him as an apprentice.

In later years, Minato was put in charge of a Genin team of his own, consisting of Kakashi Hatake, Rin and Obito Uchiha.

During Kakashi Gaiden, set during the Third Great Shinobi War, Minato led his team on a mission into Kusagakure famously known as "Konoha's Yellow Flash." Because Kakashi had recently become a Jonin, Minato gave leadership of the mission to Kakashi while he went to help Konoha's forces on the front lines. Before leaving he gave Kakashi a special kunai as a congratulatory present, outfitted with the seal used for his Flying Thunder God Technique.

While helping his fellow Konoha ninja he used the Flying Thunder God Technique to wipe out all of the opposing Iwagakure ninja in an instant. He returned to Kakashi in time to save him from another group of Iwagakure ninja, but could not save Obito. When Kakashi and Rin recovered from the ordeal, Minato helped them complete the task of destroying the Kannabi Bridge.

Flying Thunder God Technique

This jutsu was created by Minato Namikaze, and quite possibly the reason behind his nickname, "Konoha's Yellow Flash" (木ノ葉の黄色い閃光 Konoha no Kīroi Senkō). It allows the user to move himself to another location in the blink of an eye. Although it is often compared with the Body Flicker Technique, the speed of this jutsu is much greater. In principle, this jutsu is similar to the Reverse Summoning Technique, as it revolves around manipulation of time and space rather than accelerated movement, but instead of bringing something to users, it sends them somewhere. Additionally, it makes no noise and produces no puff of smoke, allowing the user to appear behind someone unnoticed.

To activate this jutsu, the user needs a special seal or "jutsu formula" (術式, jutsu-shiki) to mark the destination. After this is done, the user enters a dimensional void that almost instantaneously transport himself to the location of the seal. Minato applied the formula in advance to weapons such as kunai. By giving one such kunai to a person, he can immediately teleport to that person at any time. He can also apply the mark to a touched area, such as his opponent or some other surrounding feature.

Furthermore, if an object marked with the seal may touch the ground, Minato will immediately know the position of everyone close to the object. This technique also possesses surveillance purposes as he can continuously sense where anyone is as long as the seal is on them. No matter where an opponent is, he arrived directly next to them. The jutsu is also very unique because it requires no use of chakra, due to a special secondary seal that emits the same chakra as him, allowing him to have an instant connection to the area.

It is because of this technique that Konoha came out victorious in the Iwagakure-Konohagakure Ninja War. After having his subordinates toss marked kunai randomly into the enemy ranks, Minato used the technique to appear within their ranks, using the great speed of this jutsu to seemingly appear to be in several places at once and wipe out entire squadrons one by one in moments before they could even react.

This is the basic form of all summoning techniques. It is a space/time type ninjutsu. When summoning an animal it requires a contract, hand seals and the user's blood. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can either be written on a scroll or tattoo to validate it. The hand that is used to make the signature with is used to summon. It should be noted that anyone can summon the animal as long as they have the blood from someone who has made a contract, along with sufficent chakra of their own. Animals are typically summoned from another location, for the toads it is from Myobokuzan‎. The target usually manifests itself after the ninja summoner strikes his hand or hands against any surface, afterwhich the specific summon will appear. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The amount of chakra used to summon the animal is proportional to the size and power of the summoned animal. Dead Demon Consuming Seal

This seal invokes the powers of the death god (shinigami). Once called upon, the death god hovers behind the user and inserts its arm into their soul. At this stage only the user can see the death god. To perform the seal the user need only grasp the target. The death god's arm extends from their chest and grabs the soul of the target, immobilizing them and allowing them to see the death god as well. Soon after the sealing is completed the death god consumes the user's soul, sentencing them to an eternity of battle in its stomach. A swirl-pattern is left on the stomachs of those that have had something sealed within them using this jutsu.



The Dead Demon Consuming Seal has served different purposes during each of its uses:

◦Minato Namikaze used it to seal the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox into Naruto Uzumaki. Before his soul was consumed Minato used the Eight Trigrams Sealing Styleand Four Symbols Seal to allow Naruto to tap into the fox's chakra reserves.
◦Two shadow clones of Hiruzen Sarutobi sealed the souls of the Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju into their bodies. In this instance, the death god consumed the two Hokage's souls in addition to the souls of the shadow clones.
◦Hiruzen Sarutobi attempted to seal Orochimaru's soul into his body, but was too weak to completely remove it. Instead, Hiruzen sealed off Orochimaru's arms by having the death god cut off the arms of Orochimaru's soul. Doing so left Orochimaru unable to use his arms to perform jutsu and left him in terrible pain due tonecrosis of his arms. He was only able to escape the effects of the seal by switching to a new body.
Rasengan

The Rasengan is a powerful technique invented by Minato Namikaze, though after three years of development it was never completed. Rasengan was meant to be an example of nature manipulation as Minato meant to combine his chakra element with the Rasengan. He died before he could accomplish this, but the Rasengan is still a very useful and difficult jutsu to learn.



Usage
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Part I, Jiraiya taught Naruto how to use the Rasengan, breaking the learning process into three steps:

◦The first step was learning how to burst a water balloon by spinning the water inside in multiple directions at once using only the user's chakra, which emphasizes rotation.
◦The second step was for the user to burst a rubber ball, and since rubber is thicker and air is completely different from water, it forces the user to use denser chakra to break it. This step emphasizes power.
◦The last and final step was to combine both step one and two by spinning chakra inside a balloon without moving the balloon itself, emphasizing stability of the sphere shape.
Although most users learn to form the Rasengan with one hand, Naruto and Konohamaru use one or more shadow clones to help in its creation. By having the hands of the shadow clones act as shells, Naruto and Konohamaru can use the complete technique without having to dedicate extra time to mastering their chakra control.

Naruto has been seen using a one-handed Rasengan when in a One-Tailed Transformation.

Effects
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Rasengan doesn't require any hand seals to use, relying only on the chakra control of the user. Once it's complete it becomes self-sustaining, which does not give Rasengan a definite limit of use like its counterpart, the Chidori. The compacted nature and moving speed of the chakra allows the Rasengan to grind into whatever it comes in contact with, causing major damage. This also tends to launch the target back once hit. In an anime filler arc, Naruto was able to perform this jutsu as a mid-range projectile technique by somehow throwing it into a wall.

The Rasengan was designed to use the caster's elemental affinities. Minato was unable to add his affinities to his Rasengan before he died. Kakashi tried to add his lightning element to the Rasengan but was unable to and explains that he uses the Chidori and Lightning Blade instead, which requires a certain point of shape manipulation and nature manipulation itself. Naruto was the first to add his Wind affinity to his Rasengan and even advanced it to the point that he was able to create the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

Improvement
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While in training, Naruto improved the Rasengan with the Great Ball Rasengan, after Jiraiya pointed out during their time away from Konohagakure that it would be easier to hit an opponent with a larger Rasengan. Later, Naruto mixed his Wind natured chakra to start developing the Wind Release: Rasengan as it was originally intended. Naruto took the Rasengan even further than his father by creating the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken, a variant of the Wind Release: Rasengan. However, this new technique also damaged the user's arm and chakra circulatory system, making it a double-edged sword. Even so, Naruto overcame this obstacle as shown during his fight with Pain when, in Sage Mode, he threw the Rasenshuriken, preventing damage done to his own body.

Naruto can also wield a Rasengan in both of his hands while in Sage Mode. Sage Art: Great Ball Rasengan uses two Great Ball Rasengan, while Sage Technique: Rasenrengan uses two regular Rasengan. Jiraiya is suggested to be capable of doing something similar; when teaching Naruto the Rasengan, he does the balloon exercise in both of his hands.

Hashirama Senju (千手柱間, Senju Hashirama), the First Hokage (初代火影, Shodai Hokage; Literally meaning "First or Founding Fire Shadow"), was the founder of Konoha, the older brother of Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, and the grandfather of Tsunade (the Fifth Hokage), and Nawaki.


Hashirama was originally the leader of the Senju clan. During the first wars he and the Senju clan rose to being regarded as one of the two most powerful clans in the world, rivaling the Uchiha clan. Because of this, the Senju constantly fought the Uchiha clan and he himself against Madara Uchiha personally, even to the point that when someone hired the Senju clan, the opposing side would hire the Uchiha clan, and vice-versa. Eventually growing tired of the constant fighting, Hashirama and his clan approached the Uchiha and offered a truce with them. Allied with Madara and his clan, the two groups started what grew into the Five Great Shinobi Nations by founding Konohagakure.

When deciding who should become the leader of Konoha, the villagers selected Hashirama over Madara for the title of First Hokage. Fearing that Hashirama would oppress the Uchiha, Madara left the village and challenged Hashirama's rule. In the aftermath of their battle Madara was believed to have been killed and the Valley of the End was created. To commemorate the battle, two statues, of Madara and Hashirama, were carved into the earth surrounding the valley.

At some point Hashirama gained control of several Tailed Beasts, that he would later spread out between the warring nations as peace offerings and to help equalize the powers between the nations. While he was Hokage, Hashirama defeated Kakuzu, who received orders from Takigakure to kill him. However the war still waged on, and thinking about the future of Konoha, he and his younger brother, Tobirama Senju, the future Second Hokage, trained the young Hiruzen Sarutobi, the future Third Hokage. Not long after founding Konoha, Hashirama died in battle, passing on the title of Hokage to Tobirama.
Hokage Shodaime, Hashirama Senju's Jutsus (3) Wood Release Secret Technique: Birth of Dense Woodland

This technique is unique to the Wood Release Kekkei Genkai of Hashirama Senju. It allows him to force trees to grow on any surface, and can easily create a dense forest anywhere. This jutsu can also be used to bind an opponent in a tree 400 meters tall and explode causing great devastation, and alter a battlefield for his own uses.

By utilizing the Wood Release power to harness the user's own life energy, the user will produce a seal in the form of kanji "seat" (座, za) on his hand. By then pointing that hand and focusing the chakra on a target of nature energy (i.e. tailed beasts), the user will be able to control the target through its chakra. A variation of this jutsu is to suppress natural chakra. To aid in this final effect, the user will use the Wood Release to produce several wood spiked posts with dragon heads from the ground to surround the target. The posts will then begin to drain the potency of the chakra until the chakra fully recedes back into the target. The stronger the chakra is in comparison to the user's own chakra, the closer the user must be for this jutsu to work.

Of an important note, Hashirama's natural powers for Wood Release made his powers towards this jutsu so strong, that he could control the strongest of targets even from great distances. Because Yamato's powers are only artificially infused into him, he is not nearly as strong or skilled. Because of which, Yamato only has the power to suppress chakra, and for the target to be too strong will require the assistance of Hashirama's crystal gem (結晶石, kesshōseki).

Bringer-of-Darkness Technique

This jutsu makes the target think that they are surrounded by total darkness, allowing the user to attack unseen. Although it negates sight, it does not stop the other senses. In essence, the opponent can sense, hear and smell out the user of the technique and break its effects by landing one hit. In the anime, Tobirama Senju was the one to initiate this technique. In the manga, it was Hashirama Senju.

The Third Hokage (三代目火影, Sandaime Hokage) and his former teammates, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, were students of the First Hokage and Second Hokage. Because of his surname, Sarutobi (猿飛), the First and Second called him "Monkey" (猿, Saru). He is the father of Asuma Sarutobi and the grandfather of Konohamaru. The Third was called The Professor (プロフェッサー, Purofessā) due to his vast knowledge of jutsu, purportedly knowing all the jutsu within Konoha. During the only battle he is seen in he utilizes a number of attacks dealing with fire and earth; his fire-based jutsu deal with spitting streams of flames at opponents, while his earth-based attacks allow him to either create defensive walls or projectiles to launch at opponents. In addition to elemental attacks, he can use Technique Neutralize (術消, Jutsu Shō) to prevent or stop an opponent's jutsu by exerting an equal amount of chakra. The Third also has a personal summon: the monkey king, Enma, who can turn into a staff that the Third wields with great proficiency. Despite all of his abilities, the Third seems to have had some sense of lecherousness in him as he spends much of his free time talking to young girls and even succumbing to Naruto Uzumaki's perverted jutsu on one occasion.

Shadow Clone Technique

Similar to the Clone Technique, this jutsu creates clones of the user. Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies, not illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. They can also disperse on their own.

Unlike other clone techniques, they can't be detected by the Byakugan because the clones have the exact same amount of chakra and aren't made from any other substance, making them indistinguishable from the actual person. Sasuke Uchiha claims that the Sharingan can tell the difference during his battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End, albeit they might just make him able to keep track of the original Naruto.

Advantages
Any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. This makes the technique ideal for spying, since the user can simply send a clone to spy on a target, then have the clone disperse itself without returning to pass the information back to the user. It's also useful for training purposes, since the total amount of experience the user gains is multiplied by the total number of clones being used to train.
Using it in this manner is far more difficult, however, since a large number of clones are needed to make a significant difference in the training time. It's unclear if other types of clones possess this advantage. Kakashi Hatake is the first in the series to reveal the side effect of this technique during Part II. The remaining chakra of a clone is also returned to the original, to some extent, as seen in Naruto's fight with Pain.

Disadvantages
Because of the manner in which the clones are created, the user must divide their chakra among the clones potentially using up all their chakra fairly quickly if the user is low on chakra or makes too many clones, such as Naruto does with Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, this jutsu's enhanced (and forbidden) form.
Naruto is able to use this technique to the extremes that he does because of his tailed beast, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, which gives him an abnormally high chakra level. Even without the demon fox's chakra, Naruto can make quite a few clones, but nowhere near on the level he can when he has access to the demon fox's chakra, creating up til 1999 clones, during his fight with Gaara, and possibly even more during his training, in Part II.

The technique can also be dangerous if the user is injured or has some otherwise debilitating physical condition at the time of the cloning, since all of the clones will be created in roughly the same state. As shown during training with Yamato, clones can begin to transform into the Nine-Tails unexpectedly. It should also be noted that while Naruto was going into the demon fox's cloak in his fight with Deidara the other clones seemed to be choking and dying as if the demon fox's chakra was killing them.

Attempting to use the clones for training purposes can also be mentally harmful to the user, as frequent use of this manner can result in mental fatigue, as Kakashi noted when he was training Naruto, but because of Naruto's stamina the mental fatigue cannot slow him down for long.

Barrier Encampment Method

An array of four explosive tags are jointly placed around the boundary of an area. If anyone or anything happens to walk through the boundary, the seals will instantly activate and explode, killing the imprisoned target.

Water Release: Water Shockwave

This technique allows the user to make a spiraling vortex of water from the moisture in the air. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave, to which the user can control the direction the wave goes.

Sword of the Thunder God

This sword was owned by Tobirama Senju. It was stolen from Konohagakure by Idate Morino because Aoi Rokusho told him that he could become a Chunin if he managed to get the sword. Aoi then took the sword for himself until it was destroyed by the combined efforts of Team 7.

The sword glowed bright yellow and was apparently infused with pure electrical energy thus it's name. The blade was unusual in that, though it appeared to retract into or emanated from the hilt or crossguard not unlike a Lightsaber (and producing the same sound), it was apparently solid and subject to stressing and being shattered when sufficient force was applied. The forces required were extreme, however, as a weakness in the blade had to be created first with a sustained attack from Sasuke's Chidori, an extremely powerful lightning based attack itself, and then in order to actually break the sword it needed to be struck with Rasengan in the weak point that was created.

It could be speculated that this sword was extremely valuable like the Hashirama Senju's necklace, but that was not mentioned in the episodes that it appeared. It is, however, extremely valuable from a combat point of view, as Aoi claimed that the wielder of the blade was essentially invincible. However, if one relies on the sword too much, it was proven that with skill and teamwork, a Jonin wielding the sword can still be defeated by a pair of Genin. On the other hand, it is also possible that not being the proper owner of the blade and having had no formal training on its use, Aoi simply did not know how to use the weapon to its full potential.

Bringer-of-Darkness Technique

This jutsu makes the target think that they are surrounded by total darkness, allowing the user to attack unseen. Although it negates sight, it does not stop the other senses. In essence, the opponent can sense, hear and smell out the user of the technique and break its effects by landing one hit. In the anime, Tobirama Senju was the one to initiate this technique. In the manga, it was Hashirama Senju.

Water Release: Water Encampment Wall

This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water that can be up to 360° if necessary. This wall of water is especially efficient at stopping fire techniques though is unable to defend against elemental fusion and combination techniques such as those employed by Kakuzu. In the manga the hand seal sequence for this jutsu ends in the same seal that activate the Byakugan, though Tobirama Senju only needs one to use this jutsu. Furthermore the anime creates a completely original and far more elaborate set of hand seals when Tobirama uses it in the form of having the right hand cupping the left hand with a thumbs-up. Kakashi Hatake after the time skip is shown to be able to execute this jutsu in an area with no water by blowing water from his mouth (through his mask) suggesting that the ninja only blows out a stream of chakra that turns into water externally. Tobirama also used this method during the Destruction of Konoha arc, and it was this jutsu that made the Konoha ANBU in attendance marvel at his ability to use such a high level technique in a place with no water, meaning it must be quite a remarkable feat.

Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique is a giant, powerful dragon created out of water. It is first revealed in the series by Zabuza Momochi and copied at the same time by Kakashi Hatake (although it is possible that he already knew the jutsu). This jutsu needs 42 hand seals, the most amount of hand seals necessary to use a jutsu shown in the series. Another drawback to the technique is that it requires the user to be near a large body of water to complete the technique. However, Tobirama Senju was able to produce one far from water and with only one hand seal, which was a testament to his skill and one of the reasons why he was selected as Hokage.

Hyuga Neji
Neji Hyuga (日向ネジ, Hyūga Neji) is a fictional character. He is a member of Might Gai's Team Gai, consisting of himself, Rock Lee, and Tenten. He is also considered part of the Konoha 11. Neji is the only known Hyuga clan member whose first name does not start with a kana from the Ha-gyō (ha (ハ), hi (ヒ), fu (フ), he (ヘ), or ho (ホ)). His name means "Screw", "Spiral", or "Helix", which probably refers to his Heavenly Spin technique. Neji uses a style similar to Baguazhang and has techniques containing "Eight Trigrams Palm" in their names. His name also bears resemblance to Nèijiā, the word for soft when applied to Chinese martial arts techniques.
Hyuga Neji's Jutsus (6) Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms

This jutsu closes off sixty-four specific chakra points on an opponent's body with the Gentle Fist, effectively eliminating their ability to use chakra for quite some time and making it difficult for them to move. It begins with striking two chakra points, followed by four more, then eight, then sixteen, then thirty-two, and then sixty-four strikes. Each set of strikes is done at an exponentially increasing pace and strength. The attack not only disables the enemy but also knocks them back with every set of strikes. In the anime, a minor version of this technique is Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms and the doubled version of this technique is Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms.

Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin

This jutsu utilizes the chakra control gained through Gentle Fist training to release a huge amount of chakra from the user's chakra points right before being struck. The released chakra blocks any possible attack on the user. The user then spins rapidly to parry the attack, both creating a shield of chakra around themselves and tossing away any nearby attackers. This jutsu is only effective when rotating, since the chakra itself is not enough to stop a physical attack. If they cannot rotate, the user becomes vulnerable.

Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms

This jutsu is essentially a doubled version of Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. Like the former, it closes off the opponent's tenketsu. However, it closes off twice as many (128) at twice the speed. Alternatively, it can be used to hit a great number of targets very quickly.

Eight Trigrams Mountain Crusher

Gentle Fist

The Gentle Fist style of combat is based on palm strikes and generally aims to damage the body's Chakra Pathway System, thus creating difficulty by inhibiting an opponent's use of chakra. To do this, the user will forcefully insert a small amount of their own chakra into an opponent's chakra pathway system. The chakra can the be used to rupture or divert chakra flow, preventing them from using jutsu. It can also be used to attack the opponent's internal organs, to which the chakra pathway system is closely tied. Even the slightest tap from this style can cause major damage, hence the name "gentle fist." Because the chakra pathway system is invisible, the Byakugan is required for this style to be used effectively. Since the Byakugan is unique to the Hyuga clan, it has become their signature style of combat.

Hyuga Hinata
Hinata Hyuga (日向ヒナタ, Hyūga Hinata) is the eldest daughter of the Hyuga clan's main branch. She was trained by her father, Hiashi Hyuga, to become the clan's heiress, though in time he came to deem her a lost cause. Throughout her early time in Team 8, Hinata's lack of self-confidence and unwillingness to fight hamper her abilities. Although she trains to improve her skills, she immediately gives up when faced with competition and fails every mission she is assigned as a result. In an attempt to change herself, Hinata enters the Chunin Exams, where she is pit against her cousin, Neji Hyuga, in the exam's preliminary matches. Although Neji easily outmatches her and taunts her for the battle's duration, Hinata perseveres in an attempt to prove her own worth, even turning one of his own insults against him.
Hyuga Hinata's Jutsus (4) Protection of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms

Created by Hinata, this jutsu allows her to emit a constant stream of chakra from her palms, creating extremely sharp chakra blades. With her natural flexibility, Hinata can reach any point around her, allowing her to hit any target within her field of vision. While using this jutsu, Hinata moves extremely fast (her movements become a blur), allowing her to hit hundreds of targets with extreme precision, much like the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. Additionally, Hinata can control the size of the chakra beams in her palms, allowing her to create larger, arc-shaped chakra beams that spread out across her entire attack range.

With this and her natural flexibility, the technique creates an "absolute defense" effect similar to that of the Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin, though the cutting nature of the chakra prevents any outside force from restricting it. In this way, the technique can be used as both an offensive and defensive maneuver.

Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists

The user forms two large lion-like shrouds of chakra around their hands, then thrusts them forward at the opponent. The jutsu seems to be performed in a spinning manner to confuse and throw off the opponent's aim.
