Description:All Hyuuga clan members are born with the Byakugan, and to activate it they perform hand seals. Once that it is activated, the user gains special sight abilities similar to telescopic and x-ray vision.
An activated Byakugan can see the Keirakukei, the body’s chakra current system, even through solid objects. The Byakugan also has a vision field of nearly 360 degrees, so the user can see even behind him without turning his head. Neji Hyuuga has one of the largest range of vision amongst the Hyuuga clan and is considered a genius, his Byakugan vision can currently reach an 800 meters radius. Neji is capable of seeing and attacking the Tenketsu, the 361 internal chakra vital points that connect and serve as exits for the chakra network.
The Hyuuga clan developed a secret Taijutsu style (hand-to-hand fighting style) called the Jyuuken (Gentle Fist). It attacks the keirakukei, chakra current, and causes internal damage to the opponent. The user emits pinpoint charka through his/her palms or fingers and forces it into the opponent’s keirakukei. Although there is little damage to the outside of the body, this attack wrecks havoc on the body’s organs and nervous system. This is considered the most deadly Taijutsu of Konoha because of it’s ability to kill opponents quickly.
Neji is capable of blocking the tenketsu, chakra points, and stop the chakra circulation of the opponent in order to prevent his/her use of jutsus, or even to kill. He is also able to emit chakra from all his chakra pores not only his hands, giving the ability to attack and defend in all directions.
WeaknessAlthough the Byakugan’s field of vision offers near 360 degrees, it does have a blind spot in the back of the neck through one of the vertebra columns. This weakness was exploited by Kidomaru during his fight with Neji.
Measures to protect the Byakugan To protect the secrets of the Byakugan the Hyuuga took extreme measures. The clan was divided in two branches: the main branch,, the Soke, which ruled the clan and learnt more secret techniques; and the, Bunke, a secondary branch that exists only to protect the first. The Bunke members are marked with a cursed seal that can be activated by certain members of the main branch. When active, the seal causes destruction of the brain cells, causing the person great pain that will eventually lead to death. Notably, the Byakugan is the Kekkei Genkai in Konoha which has the greatest number of living users
Fighting TechniquesHakke Rokujuuyon Shou, (Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms)
This is the basic fighting technique of the Hyuuga clan and has a range of 5 meters. The Hyuuga combine the Byakugan and the Jyuuken to strike the opponent’s keirakurei or tenketsu 64 times. This consists of a succession of lightning quick strikes: first 2 hits, then 4 hits, then 8, 16 and finally 32 to make a total of 64 hits. Through their fingertips, the Hyuuga injects a small amount of his/her chakra into the opponent’s body, disrupting or halting the flow of chakra. As a result, the opponent will be unable the channel chakra to perform techniques
