Lesson One

Midnight took his seat in the ever so typical Academy classroom. At the moment he was quite bored, waiting for someone, anyone to come in. There weren't any other students there, so he was completely alone, not even a teacher to keep him company. He didn't mind the loneliness, it only reminded him of when he was younger. The nostalgia of it all came back to him, sitting at class while a war was going on outside. It couldn't have been a worse time.

Midnight sat tapping his foot repeatedly against the floor boredly, waiting for someone to come in and start teaching.

Walking into the room was a stern-faced man. His emotions weren't openly shown. He wore a Jounin jacket and trousers. As he stepped into the room, he glanced over everyone's faces, commiting them to memory. He was the kind of person to care about others and not show it. He, to himself, was selfless.
"Good morning everyone." he adressed the class. "My name is Hera. Hera Tashi." He folded his arms and stood up straight. "Can those who tell me their names tell me the village we are in?" He inquired.

Midnight wondered briefly who the man was addressing, considering the fact that Midnight was the only one there. After all, it was really early in the morning. Ignoring that fact, he decided to answer the teacher, well, the person he assumed would be the teacher. "My name is Midnight," he stated plainly. Midnight wondered what kind of teacher wouldn't even know what village he was in, but that was beside the point. Midnight decided to humor the pathetic man, though he would lie also so it wasn't boring. "We are in the Leaf Village, how did you not notice all the trees? and leaves? wait...those are everywhere...hmm.....shouldn't you of all people know anyways? and why are you addressing a class of people when only I'm here?" Midnight asked, like strikes to one's ego.

"I was testing you." Hera smiled for the briefest of seconds, as other students started to walk into the classroom. "A ninja always needs to be on rop of their mind, their game, to be able to perform effectively. We are in Takigakure, of course."
Hera pushed his hands into his pocket and flicked back his dark hair with his head.
The rest of the students sat down.
"Today, we will learn one or two basic ninja arts, depending how fast we go." He brought his hands out of his pocket and spread them. "We will learn Substitution, Transformation and Doppelgangers."
He quickly poofed into a cloud of smoke, transforming into the Hokage. He clapped his hands together in the sign of the tiger and a clone appeared beside him in another cloud of smoke.
"But of course this is only easy once you know how to manipulate chakra..." Hera transformed back into himself. "Can anyone give a quick explanation of this?

"Oooh, who's that guy?" Midnight asked as Hera transformed himself into the Hokage. It was obvious that Midnight didn't really know any of the village leaders. He came from a minor village, what was there to learn? Smiling at his own ignorance, he listened to the teacher as other people took their seats. As the teacher asked the question, Midnight pondered it. He would need to recall knowledge he had learned in the past, or let someone else answer. He decided on the latter and puts his arms behind his head, relaxing, while waiting.

When the students glanced at each other nervously and none answered, the teacher sighed.
"Chakras are mental and physical energy..." He began, starting a long lecture about what chakras were, how to utilize them and what they were used for. When he was done, he cleared his throat.
"Right then. Can anyone apply the uses of chakra into making a doppelganger? It does not matter if you don't get it right the first time." He pointed at the clone that looked like the Hokage that was still next to him. "You have to imagine chakra pouring into your body, form it into a shape of yourself, split it up as many times as you can create clones and send those chakras where you want the clones to appear, in this case, next to you." He frowned. "Who wants to try?"
